Find out more about the Management and Governance of the Lincoln College Group.
The Corporation is responsible for the overall functioning of the College. In general terms, it is responsible for the quality of service that the College offers to learners and the local community, as well as the College’s financial health and its strategic direction.
These pages provide an open access point to the workings of the Corporation and include minutes of meetings as well as a range of other information about the Corporation and its Governors.
The Corporation is the College's governing body and it meets regularly during the year to consider strategic developments, systematic monitoring of College and Management performance and prescribed compliance reports. There is also an Audit Committee and Search Committee as part of our Governance structure.
You can read the most recent Board of Corporation minutes in the 'Downloads' section of this page.
You can see the College Ofsted inspection reports here and the college DfE performance reports here.
They adhere to the Audit Code of Practice, to provide assurance on the quality and effectiveness of the College’s corporate governance and are independent of College management.
You can read the most recent Audit Committee minutes in the 'Downloads' section of this page.
“I was exposed to the College’s innovative, challenging approach to delivering the best learning opportunities for all through my business interactions. The College had a strong reputation for working in partnership with the local communities it served and this philosophy and approach chimed with my own value set.
“The Board is deeply committed to the continued growth and development of the College. There are many facets to life in College: from a conversation with an individual learner or staff member to consideration of a £7 million development project, but all contribute to a richly rewarding experience. The results of our contributions and endeavours as a member of the Board are very visible.”
Margaret Serna, Director; Bluedale Consultants Limited
“As a past FE college student, I recognise the importance and value of post-16 learning. I am motivated by promoting FE and contributing to the creation of educational excellence for Lincoln and the wider area. Being a governor is a win-win situation: I draw on my professional skills to support the development of the College, while I gain experience of running and managing a successful education establishment.
“The most rewarding aspects of being governor are being able to play an active part in the strategic development of the College; sharing the experiences and ideas of other governors and the College’s Senior Management Team and seeing the achievements of the students.”
James Pinchbeck, Marketing Partner; Streets Chartered Accountants
“The role of board member has been even more rewarding than I might have expected….the College has a great SMT who want the advice and input of their board and act upon it. There is full staff and student engagement and you are really encouraged to become part of the College fabric attending social as well as functional meetings. I would heartily recommend it to potential governors.”
Pat Doody, Director of Commercial Banking; NatWest/Royal Bank of Scotland
